Happy new year!

bagels

The perfect new year's breakfast is always bagels. Bagels with cream cheese. Bagels with hummus. Coffee. Yes.

BAGELS!!

In other news, if you still have eggnog in the house, have I got a deal for you! First, in John's words, "Just admit it! Admit that you like eggnog-flavored things!" Of course, if you have eggnog in the house you may have already accepted this. I had not. ANYWAY, here's what you need to do. Go brew a cup of strong hot chai. Now, instead of adding milk to it, add eggnog.

chai eggnog

AMAZING.

If you happen to have made any of the gingerbread liqueur we discussed a few weeks ago, and you have remained sober enough throughout the holiday season to consider drinking now, you may want to add a glug of that too. It's so good.

Eggnog gingerbread chai sounds ridiculously good. I envy you!

We had New Years Day bagels too--with cream cheese, egg, and bacon :)

I've never tried eggnogg, it's not something we really have in the UK. The chai looks so delicious though. Impressive looking bagels too. Happy New Year!

Just to specify, I did not make these bagels! I just went to the bagel shop in advance. But they were indeed really good. :) I'm so glad to see so many eggnog lovers in the house too! Happy new year to all!

I'm going to have to say that perfect breakfast pretty much any time is bagels. I love the eggnog chai idea!

Never tried adding eggnog to coffee... seems like it would add just enough sweetness! And apparently it doesn't cook the egg?

I couldn't agree more. Bagels are the best way to start the year. Thank you for sharing. What a great way to start my Monday. I'm already hungry...and I just finished breakfast. I hope you have a wonderful week!

Nope, the hot coffee or chai (I did try both) don't cook the egg! I mean, keep in mind that I was using storebought eggnog, but still.
